A major and complete road closure to vehicular traffic will take place shortly on Warton Road, Carnforth which will affect Clubs playing at Millhead.
The closure comes into effect on 30th August and is predicted to last until 18th November although the termination date may be a few weeks sooner depending on excavation progress.
For those who know the area, the closure is situated under the second railway bridge coming from the Carnforth direction just after the Railway Club and before the narrow River Keer Bridge.
Diversions will be in operation and for Clubs coming from Lancaster, Morecambe and the South this will entail travelling through Carnforth on the A6, go over the two roundabouts at Truckhaven and the A601 M: continue towards Milnthorpe for 1/4 mile, turn left into Borwick Lane towards Warton. Travel into Warton Village and turn left at the crossroads back towards Carnforth. Continue into Millhead and turn left into Carlisle Terrace just before the narrow river bridge.
If it helps, the Postcode for the ground is LA5 9HD, Carlisle Terrace.
Alternatively they could try and park in Carnforth and walk to the ground as there is pedestrian access through the closure: this however is not recommended as parking is always at a premium in Carnforth.
I will re contact when the closure is lifted.
